Skatin Penguin

Well everyone it's that time of the week again. Making up Faiths fantastic digi stamp last minute as always. Although this week it really was not my intention I had planned to be early but my stinking cold had other ideas. I'm only just starting to feel human again and composed enough to even think about crafting, WOW I must have been unwell.

Anyway this card is not what I had in mind when I printed out the stamp but I think it turned out OK for a last minute rush together. I only hope that Faith feels I have done it justice. If you like the image you can purchase it in Faiths online store Designed2delight.. So although you may have missed out on it as a freebie you can still have fun playing with it.

This card is called a corner easel card and the backing paper was a feebie from a magazine I got last year but never used the papers. The snowflakes are a cuttlebug die and the gems are from a nail file I purchased from the pound shop. Yes a nail file I'm not kidding. Well not this time anyway.

Thanks for taking a look and I hope to be back again very soon.

Little girls Christmas gift.

Hi Everyone

This is a card that I made up at the same time as I made the Angel Kaela for the designed 2 delight challenge. I didn't want to waste a full piece of backiung paper so I printed one of my own digi stamps as well to see how well it made up. I must admit that I am more than happy with the final outcome. The original image has the little girl holding a flower but I wanted her to be more for Christmas even if I haven't used traditinal christmas colours. I think I pulled it off.

The digi stamp that I used to make this card is availalbe below as a freebie I hope that you enjoy using it as much as I did. All my digi stamps are had drawn and then scanned into the computer, You can find some of my digi stamps at crafts u print as well and the backing papers that I used for this card will also be on the site very shortly.

The digi stamp that I used to make this card is availalbe below as a freebie I hope that you enjoy using it as much as I did.

I also made up the rose for this card using the mini dot backing sheet and I think it's quite adorable.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed what you saw.

Angel 'Kaela'

Hi Everyone

Well it's last minute again just like me LOL. Every week I print out everything I need to make up Faiths fabulous designs the minute I get them and then life just seems to get in the way as it does. One of these days I will be organised! NO Never happen I'm affraid we can all wish.

Well this image is another of Faiths digi stamps from Designed2delight.com I must admit though I had to add a mouth as no mouth gives me kind of the wiggins. Although it would be nice if we could remove my teenage daughters from time to time.

I also wanted to colour it using a different technique so I printed the design on plain white card twice one for the base layer and one to colour in the face using promarkers, and I also printed it out on to a couple of backing papers that I made up and then paper pieced it all together. On the base layer (1 of the white printed images) I used a quickie glue pen on the wings, halo and stars and coloured in using glitter.

Over all I am really happy with how it tuned out. My final embelishment was making a poinsettia out of the matching paper and adding a sentiment. I also made the card a slightly unusual shape to add another dimention to the overall look.

Thanks for looking people and hope you like what you see.

Beautiful Blessings

Hi Everyone

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I have decided to make a pink feeings book out of the beautiful image from Designed2Delight digital stamps. The image is called 'Beautiful Blessing' and was a gift for playing along in last weeks challenge. If you didn't play along last week, you can buy it here and join in the fun this week.

Breast Cancer awareness is a cause very close to my heart. I am one of the lucky ones. I only had to live with the fear of having breast cancer for a couple of weeks while all the test were being performed. My lump turned out to be just that. A lump, nothing life threatning but the fear it caused for those 2 weeks well I think you can guess. I had 2 small children and just seperated from my partner and my fear was what will happen to them if it is Cancer. I can not even imagine what I would have done if the tests had brought us a different result.

To those brave women and men who have to live with this terrible desease everyday and to all the families who have to be brave along with you I send out my thoughts and prayers and hope that all will be well in the end.

We can all hope, dream and beleive that one day this desease will be a thing of the past a bad memory in the history of man. Support Breast cancer awareness and donate what we can in hope that the doctors will find the cure and no one need suffer or live in fear again of not only breast cancer but other forms of cancer as well.

Hugs to all

A card of thanks

Well this is a card that my youngest daughter inspired me to make. She has not been very well recently and will never get better just learn to cope with her problem. We have good days and we have bad ones and on occasion really really bad ones.

For a good few months she was unable to leaves the house as her anxieties got the better of her but eventually we managed to get out and go into our local town. We managed to even get down to our busy market which ended up being a blessing. Whilst being unable to go into town a new business had opened called Enchanted Way which sells all kinds of wonderful things all on the theme of dragons and fairies as well as a few Wicca goods and such like. The young man who runs the stall has been great and really helped my daughter get back out into the world.

I decided to make a card for him as a good luck on his new adventure for his business and also as a thank you for his kindness towards my daughter. Seeing how he sells dragons and fairies I wanted to make something on that theme and seeing how I don't think he would appreciate a fairy for himself I chose to make him a card using a dragon. I hand drew this dragon using an image from a design book for inspiration and coloured it using pro makers. The background was made using big a juicy ink pads to give it a distressed look. At the moment I have not given him the card so I can not report his reaction I just hope it will be a good one.

Thanks for popping by see you again soon and happy crafting

I've been Spotlighted

Hi Everyone

wow I awoke this morning to a lovely surprise, Priscilla from CDAC (Crafters Digital Art Center) has spotlighted one of my cards that I created for the colour challenge over there.I feel really really honoured about this. It has really put a smile on my face.

This was a card I wanted to have a play with. In England we don't usually send cards for Halloween not yet anyway, but I loved the image so much I just had to have a play. Plus the little witch isn't a nasty one so no spiders or bugs for her I just couldn't do it. I did have some bat rings that came in a bag full of goodies from the pound shop. I decided to use those.

The card itself is just a simple easel card in the shape of an unside down triangle and matted and layered using some free backing paper that I got from a magazine ages ago. (I am on a drive to use up some of the freebies before I buy anything else and see what I can make with them.)
The rings from the goddie bags I had to chop of the ring part and add it to some acetate so they looked like they were just flying next to the card and not attached to it. Added glitter around the moon and around the matt of the image which I cut out using my nesties. Then really just had fun putting it all together and hoping that it all worked out.

Thankfully it did work out now have have this wonderful honour and a great start to a day I thought was going to be stressing. Now not letting anything get to me nope smile on my face now no matter what the day tries to throw at me.

Willow whimsy challenge

Hi everyone

I know it has been a while since I last put anything on here once again time has just got away from me. I really need days to be 48 hours long and then I might just about catch up on things lol. No who am I kidding I would still be behind but maybe not as far.

The challenge digi this week from Designed2Delight Digital Stamps is just gorgeous! I just couldn't stop myself from buying the whole set.

I just loved the whole concept of the full set and could not imagine making a card without putting all the elements together.

D2D weekly challenge "MEOW"

Hi Everyone

Well it is that time of the week again. Every week I say I am going to get this done early and every week I end up being last minute Annie. Mind you this week had loads to do in the normal life getting kids ready for school, meeting after meeting because my little one not well plus other added distractions which I can not go into all put paid to my endeavour to get this in early. Better late than never though right.

This really was a little cutie to make up I loved him. I must admit that this was my second attempt as my first did not go to plan and did end up in the bin. It was a good idea just didn't look right at all. Well you have to have a play every now and then and experiment LOL. I hope that you think he has turned out OK this time thanks for looking and happy crafting

Shaped Easel Cards

Hi Everyone

Well this week I have messing around with the humble easel card and seeing what I could come up with. I decided I wanted to make some templates so that I wouldn't have to work out the design everytime I wanted to make something up that wasn't square or rectangular.

I creatd some quite fun shapes ranging from the house / Shed / Dog kennel shown in the photo to a christmas tree and cauldron. I have even managed to make a gentlemans hat and a bottle of wine to name a few. ~The most stylish I think is the cross doesn't not need much to make it look stunning.

If you would like to see the full range available why not go over to craftsuprint and have a look in my designers resource section. You will find images of the finished item so you can see before you decide to purchase.

I made up 18 easel cards in 2 nights from scratch and that also included having to print, laminate and cut out the template before use. So quick once you have the right equipment.

Well it is getting late and I have an early start tomorrow. So Now I go to my bed which is screaming my name.

~Thannks for dropping by and see you again real soon.

Hugs and happy crafting

CDAC Vintage writing

Wow what can I say I won a challenge with this card over at the CDAC. Never won anything like that before.

The challenge was for the other theme entry we had to create a card with vintage and writing as it's base to start from, also using the free image supplied for the challenge. I couldn't find the right backing paper so I created it using some images I had. I also wanted to give a feeling that the letters were one of the most important treasures that this person owned. They were more valuable than money. This person had the first letter that their grandchild had wrote them hence the yellowing of the papers. I also wanted to depict the ancient art of writing to loved ones and this was why I placed on the card a quill and ink well. The quill was an old lace trimming from a blouse that I had stashed in my wardrobe. No idea where it came from as the blouse/shirt certainly isn't my style. I think I remember wearing it once? for what no idea but you know us crafters never throw anything away and I am so glad I didn't as it worked perfectly.

I even added an old Brittania 1 pence coin. I think the date on it was 1936 and I also added an old treasure box key for good measure.

I wasn't sure that the card would work out at first but the more I got into it the better I liked it. I am so pleased that others liked it also as that is why we create our works to help brighten other peoples days. I hope that you like what you see and why not go over to the CDAC and join in the fun.

Fishin' Around with Designed2Delight

Well it was that time of the week again for the Design2Delight challenge. I must admit that this one was hard for me. I never know what to do with images with a sporting theme. Mens cards are always hard for me, no idea why just are LOL.

Well thanks for stopping by see you again soon.

D2D pumpkin autumn is close.

Hi All

Well another crafty week has passed how quickly time flies. This is for the design2delight weekly challenge. As I played along last week this was my free gift which enabled me to play again this week for free. I just love the pumpkin design. I loved being able to play with the rich autumnal colours as they are the best. So warm and conforting. Yes I am one of the crazy ones who love autumn and winter and not really into summer to hot.

Well I hope that you like what I have created with the pumpkin digi stamp really had fun with this one.

Thanks for looking

Design2Delight Teddy

Well what can I say about this little chappie except that I love him. He reminds me so much of my much loved and rather tatty looking teddy when he was new. And yes I still have him no way would I be parting with my Teddy Eddy. I know sad but I don't care.

This image was created by Faith over at designed2 delight and I think she has created a very versatile image Thank you Faith for offering it as a freebie up until Thusday 12th August 2010. Why not head over their and grab this great freebie whilst it's there and have a look around at the same time. You could also join in her weekly challenge and receive even more free digital stamps. Go on give it a go you still have 24 hours.

This was a lovely little image that I just had to colour golden. Added some stitching to the nose and eyes to give it a little texture plus I think it makes his little face pop.

I cut him out and mounted him simply onto an 8"x8" card as I thought the image really didn't need anything elaborate. It really did all it's own talking. Just added a simple sentiment and card was finished. This digital stamp is stutable for both males and females. Just how you dress him will decide who he/she is for. Great for the kids after all what child does not like teddies and want to celebrate a new addition to the family just add a bib or pacifier.

Thank you for taking a look hope you liked what you saw. Big hugs to all and keep on crafting.

Christmas In July

Hi Everyone

If you played along in last weeks challenge over at Designed to Delight you would have received this adorable "Heartfelt Wishes" digi stamp from Faith to celebrate Christmas in July! and as a prize for playing along. Christmas is my favorite holiday even if it get hectic and you end up biting your nails down to bloody stumps LOL. Joys of having children and everyone you know expecting a handmade card. Can't get away with buying shop bought anymore.

I didn't play along last week as I was busy with life you know how it is but I like the stamp so much I purchased her with the special voucher that faith sent out to all the followers of her blog for attaining 200 followers way to go Faith so he was free anyway. Thank you Faith you have enabled me to play along again.

I usually leave my Christmas cards to the last minute no matter how many times I tell myself each year that I 'm not going to do that, this year I will make so many every week, but no never happens. Faith deciding to use this little cutie has kicked me into starting my Christmas cards and this is the first of many. I will make so many every week from now on I will I will I will?

Well better get crafting and keep my promise.

Hugs to you all.

After the rain

Hi Everyone

Thought I would get one more creation on here before I go tonight or should I say this morning. I have to be up in 2 hours but I just can't seem to shut down. Mayhbe because I love the peace and quiet and night time is the only time that happens no fighting or moaning. BLISS.

I created this card for a challenge on World of Crafters for their iris folding forum plus I thought it might make a nice things won't always be so bleak kind of card for a friend.

I am one of those crazy people who loves the rain and feel like everything is washed clean after a rain shower. The air always feels so crisp and fresh. This image kind of reminds me of how I feel but the sentiment is really a reminder that the darkness will not always be there the light will come again.

Thanks for looking

July where did that go!!!

Well as you can see I wasn't around much in July. Life just got in the way as it tends to do from time to time. Still did some crafting just never had much time to visit the internet or my computer very much. Way to many appointment for one person to have.

Well both my daughters are now on school hols so no early mornings right? Wrong my oldest daughter has decided to go to the local football grounds and join in with the activities they have on there over the holidays. I don't blame her I was just looking forward to some lay ins LOL.

I will get more on here over the next few days but I thought I would just show you what I created for my mom as a birthday card. It is a lantern using the Arty Farty template. Don't worry the candle is not real it is one of those battery operated tea lights. Can you believe I could not get them in my home town I had to rely on Amazon. Thank god for the internet.

Thanks for checking in and seeing what I have been up too. I will get better at this I promise.

Hugs to you all

Ballerina Stamp

Hi Everyone

still colouring away at some digi stamps, this one is one of my stamps that I hand drew and then uploaded to my computer altered and tried to make it as clear as possible.

I must be going though a blue phase at the moment as I seem to be using a lot of it. Mind you for this one I had to as the challenge I made it for was to use a sketch plus the colours yellow and blue. I assure you that it is yellow and not green as it seems to look like in the image. No idea why? The backing paper is also my creation as I wanted something like gingham and I didn't have the right colours in.

This card was made for the challenge at stampin' for the weekend why not head over there and see what they have to offer.

I hope you like what you see I do have some digi stamps for sale at crafts U print there are a few different kinds Suit a variety of people and occasions.

Thanks for looking

Delightful Inspirations June week 3 challenge

Hello All

Well I spent some of today just chillin out and colouring in some digi stamps. Need to enhance my calm and this always works.

This is a free stamp I received for entering in last weeks challenge over on Delightful Inspiration. They have a weekly challenge and you receive a free stamp for entering. You will need this stamp if you wish to enter the following weeks challenge. Well worth entering the challenges for the lovely stamps.

I loved making this card it all fell into place even the flowers which I created using HOTP blooms template. I only got it yesterday morning so I had to have a play with it. They worked out a lot better than I thought. I inked the edges of the flowers to give them more dimension and instead of placing a gem in the middle I put a paper flower I had bought and that finished it off lovely. Also if you look closely you will See that I have 3D the bird on the branch to give more depth.

Once again thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

Paper Flower Challenge

Well been quite busy this week trying to sort out my crafting supplies and getting them into some kind of order and failing miserably, but hey at least I tried.

This card is one I came across that I thought would be perfect for the crazy 4 challenge this week. You have to make a card using paper flowers either made or purchased. These flowers are a little of both I bought the digital sheet from fred she said but had to cut them out and make them up so like I said a little of both LOL. I just love Tracey Lynns stuff they always go together so easily and the cards always look stunning.

This card is quite simple but I just love the way it went together it was effortless. Well the pile of stuff I have to try and put somewhere before I can go to bed is taunting me so I had better go and try and cram it in somewhere.

Keep on crafting everyone and remember there is no such thing as to much crafting stuff and no where to put it we can always find a place

Thanks Teachers

Well it is almost that time of year again where the kids are happy and parents think Oh my goodness 6 weeks of trying to find them something to do. I have 2 girls who are very different to each other as I am sure many others of you have and you can never satisfy them both at the same time. Plus I have the added problem of my youngest not liking to go out especially in crowds she doesn't deal with them at all well. Oh well I am sure I will come up with something I hope.

All that said it is also the time of year for the thank you cards and presents for the teachers. I am really not sure what to do about this one as my youngest and the only one now that would still send a card to her teacher as a thank you. (My oldest feels like all teachers are her jailers and so wishes to thank none of them LOL exccept her mentor she has been fantastic this year to her.)Melissa is not in school at the moment due to ill health and hasn't been since early May of this year plus is unlikely to return before the new school year so that also means she will not be returning to her school but going on to a new school. See where the head scrating comes from I have splinters in my fingers now.

I decided to make something simple just in case Melissa wanted to try and go into to school to give her teacher a card. I purchased these from crafts u Print as I thought they were lovely. Yes I also buy from there even though I design for them.
They didn't have backing paper with them so I created some using the main image of each design both these designs are on the same sheet great value for money. I think they turned out OK something quick and easy but also eye catching and to the point.

Any way really must get back to trying to sort out my crafting stash which means for the next few weeks I won't be able to find anything but then again it's like that now hence the sort out. LOL

Happy crafting everyone and see you all soon.

Hello Kitty IF

Hi Everyone

This last month I have had a number of cards to make. Not all have been added here due to time constraints and my little one not being very well but I love to craft and it is this that keeps me sane most of the time.

I just loved this one so much and I would like the thank Ingrid McCraken for her wonderful IF design of Hello Kitty. My next door neighbours little girl is absolutely crazy for Kitty and this was just perfect for her 5th Birthday. Happy Birthday Millie you are just as cute.

Well better get some more designs made for craftsuprint.com seeing how I have the computer for a little time. That will all change when the kida are around. It is a 3 way fight for it at the moment as I will not allow the internet in their bedrooms. My own fault I know but I like to keep an eye on them and make sure they are safe.

Well Happy crafting

Colour combo challenge entry

Hi All

Well I have really enjoyed playing with the digi stamps this week so much and entering a few challenges has been fun.

I loved the challenge set by Crazy for Challenges with the set colour theme. I must admit I am not really a great green fan in fact most of the time I avoid the colour except if I need to make grass LOL. This challenge has proved to me that green can look good even with colours I would not normally have teamed it with. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't judge things before you try.

The image I used was from fred she said I just love Tracey Lynns designs she is such a talented lady. I just hope she will like what I created using her image.

Well must get some work done or should I say tidying as my room looks like a bomb has gone off in it. Oh the thrill it must be to have an alocated room for all your craft stuff. so once the creative fun has stoped you can walk away and close it behind you without having to think well thats another hours before I can get to bed. LOL I really must be more tidy when I create. Who am I kidding is there any crafter out there who is really tidy when they are creating?

Take care people and happy crating

The Sweet Stop Challenge

This week I spent a little time on the computer just having a look to see what I would find interesting. My mojo seems to be off so I was really looking for inspiration basically to come a knockin'. I did locate a few websites I thought were very interesting and they offer challenges either using a colour scheme or a sketch. Well I am sure that you all get the idea.

I came across website Sweet stop and they have a challenge every week starting on a Saturday so I decided to give it a go. I just had to use this little elephant I think it is so cute. I don't even know anyone who has had a baby recently but I knew I just wanted to use it This is for the Sweet stop challenge SSS60.

I am quite new to rubber/digi stamping I love it but I never feel like I quite got it right. I always feel like I should have done something different. Oh well practice makes sort of perfect all I can do is my best and hopefully I will get better. LOL

Take care everyone and happy crafting

Shaker Card Sheets

Well today has been quite productive managed to pry my kids fingers of the computer without to much damage to either. I can't wait until they are old enough to have a computer complete with internet access in their own bedroom then I will be able to get loads done without having to beg. Yes I am the one that begs for computer time.

I suppose I shouldn't complain to much it keeps my little one calm so I can get on with other things and seeing how she is slightly ( and I hope to goodness it stays only slighty) Agrophobic probably spelt wrong but I spelt it how it sounds sorry to all those who hate bad spelling but I was never any good at it. You should have seen the red pen in my english exercise books LOL then again maybe not.

Managed to get some crafting in today on top of designing some new sheets for craftsuprint.com. Made up a few sheets that I had designed a few days ago just to make sure that they worked out OK.

I made this cute little chappie because I just loved the look on his face. I have quite a few similar to this where I used the image to create a frame and not just add a frame on top of the image. Wanted it to be a little different to other shaker cards. I hope I manages it.

Well seeing how today has been a pretty reasonable sort of day I think I will go and get some other things done while the house is calm.

Twilight iris folding pictures

Although I love to make cards I also love to create pieces of work that can be given as gifts.

My first love is iris folding a craft I hadn't even tried until 3 years ago because I thought that it looked way to hard. How wrong can someone be.

My daughter is a huge Twilight fan and lets face it how many teenage (or almost teenage) girls out there aren't in lust sorry love with either Edward Cullen or Jacob Black?

My daughter recently had her bedroom at her grandparents redecorated and my Mom asked me to create some artwork for her walls as no posters were allowed. These pictures are what I came up with. First I drew all the images and then converted them into iris folding patterns. That was the easy part, the hard part was the fiddly cutting out but well worth the effort I think.

Glad to say that both my daughter and my mom were more than happy with the creations.

Art Deco Birthday Card

Well What can I say I had to make a card for my dear cousin who I have just got back in touch with after a long time and who I missed very much. We used to know each other better than we knew ourselves but after 16 years it was kind of scary trying to think what to create for her as her very first birthday card from me in such a long time.

I decided nothing is more elegant that Art Deco most ladies like that style both young and old alike. Even if it's not their favourite I didn't feel like I could offend to much with it or get it to wrong.

I also decided I wanted to make something more personal so decided to draw the lady myself taking inspiration from where I could. There is a lot of Deco out their at the moment so I knew that this would not be a problem.

This card is what I came up with I drew the image and have since scanned it into my computer so that I can use it as a digital stamp at a later date. used water colour pencils to colour the image. Pearl card for the actual card and I made a chocolate box style ribbon to help embellish. Nothing to fancy but just enough to lift the card.

As you can gather as I handed over the card today I was very apprehensive would she like it or hate it. I am pleased to say that it was very well recieved and she loved it which in turn made me very happy and able to breath a sigh of relief.

Cherry Blossom

Well here is the first of many new creations hopefully.

this is one of Traceys from Fred she Said new digital stamps that she has created I just think she is such a cutie I just had to make her up into something.

the card is quite large at 8"x8" and in one of my favourite colour combinations black, red and gold.

Basically I coloured in the image with watercolours once I had printed it out and left it to dry for an hour so the ink wouldn't bleed. Mounted it onto Black card, gold mirri (2mm boarder), card red card (5mm boarder) and gold mirri card (2 mm boarder) again.

Made up the 3D decoupage of a fushia it was the only flower that I had to hand in the right colours but I think it looks ok. and added a red bow. I haven't added a sentiment as I am not sure who will be the recipient of this card as of yet. Hopefully someone will like it when they get it.LOL

Been so Long

Well what can I say it has been 18 months since I started out thinking about creating a blog about my papercrafting and what an 18 months it has been.

All I can say it that I am so pleased that they are behind me now and I am looking to the future with determination and hope.

I am going to try and comment more and keep this blog upto date should anyone be even remotely interested in my humble creations. Most importantly I am going to do what I love doing and that is creating paper artwork of any variety.
