Twilight iris folding pictures

Although I love to make cards I also love to create pieces of work that can be given as gifts.

My first love is iris folding a craft I hadn't even tried until 3 years ago because I thought that it looked way to hard. How wrong can someone be.

My daughter is a huge Twilight fan and lets face it how many teenage (or almost teenage) girls out there aren't in lust sorry love with either Edward Cullen or Jacob Black?

My daughter recently had her bedroom at her grandparents redecorated and my Mom asked me to create some artwork for her walls as no posters were allowed. These pictures are what I came up with. First I drew all the images and then converted them into iris folding patterns. That was the easy part, the hard part was the fiddly cutting out but well worth the effort I think.

Glad to say that both my daughter and my mom were more than happy with the creations.

Art Deco Birthday Card

Well What can I say I had to make a card for my dear cousin who I have just got back in touch with after a long time and who I missed very much. We used to know each other better than we knew ourselves but after 16 years it was kind of scary trying to think what to create for her as her very first birthday card from me in such a long time.

I decided nothing is more elegant that Art Deco most ladies like that style both young and old alike. Even if it's not their favourite I didn't feel like I could offend to much with it or get it to wrong.

I also decided I wanted to make something more personal so decided to draw the lady myself taking inspiration from where I could. There is a lot of Deco out their at the moment so I knew that this would not be a problem.

This card is what I came up with I drew the image and have since scanned it into my computer so that I can use it as a digital stamp at a later date. used water colour pencils to colour the image. Pearl card for the actual card and I made a chocolate box style ribbon to help embellish. Nothing to fancy but just enough to lift the card.

As you can gather as I handed over the card today I was very apprehensive would she like it or hate it. I am pleased to say that it was very well recieved and she loved it which in turn made me very happy and able to breath a sigh of relief.

Cherry Blossom

Well here is the first of many new creations hopefully.

this is one of Traceys from Fred she Said new digital stamps that she has created I just think she is such a cutie I just had to make her up into something.

the card is quite large at 8"x8" and in one of my favourite colour combinations black, red and gold.

Basically I coloured in the image with watercolours once I had printed it out and left it to dry for an hour so the ink wouldn't bleed. Mounted it onto Black card, gold mirri (2mm boarder), card red card (5mm boarder) and gold mirri card (2 mm boarder) again.

Made up the 3D decoupage of a fushia it was the only flower that I had to hand in the right colours but I think it looks ok. and added a red bow. I haven't added a sentiment as I am not sure who will be the recipient of this card as of yet. Hopefully someone will like it when they get it.LOL

Been so Long

Well what can I say it has been 18 months since I started out thinking about creating a blog about my papercrafting and what an 18 months it has been.

All I can say it that I am so pleased that they are behind me now and I am looking to the future with determination and hope.

I am going to try and comment more and keep this blog upto date should anyone be even remotely interested in my humble creations. Most importantly I am going to do what I love doing and that is creating paper artwork of any variety.

Come back and visit again soon .
