New Designs

Well hello everyone, I have not been around for a long time this year has been very hard on my family and myself and have not really felt like crafting at all. I have just started to feel the bug again so hopefully this means a turn around and hopefully the creative funk is now leaving.

ELEGANCE - Inspired by an old photograph of my grandmother when she was younger. I never got the chance to meet her in person but by all accounts she was a remarkable woman.

Memoreis Whispered - this one was inspired by my daughters love of My Little Pony and the Wallpaper that she wants in her room.

FRIENDSHIP - I remember a while ago I saw something similar and it has stuck in my head so I drew my interpritation of it. With all that is going on in the world I think it represents what should be happening.

These are some new images a drew just to see if I still could not sure if I am 100% happy with them but I think they turned out ok.

Hope you all like them too.

Hope to be around more and hopefully will have more stuff to show.

Hugs Sarah xxxx

CDAC April challenge submission 2

Hi Everyone

This is the second image that I will be entering into the CDAC April Challenge aimed at the men in our lives.

I just love dragons and there are quite a few around my home. This one is based on one of them as I love the way his wings are opening. Hope you all like what you see and I thought it would be a little different.

Big hugs to all

CDAC April Digital drawing Challenge

Hi Everyone

well not been a good month up to now. Really don't feel like doing much but have to forge ahead and get back into things, so I decided to do some drawing and to kill 2 birds with one stone aim it towards the CDAC April challenge.

This month at the CDAC the challenge is to draw something aimed for the men in our lives not easy as men tend to be the most difficult for most of us to cater for. Unless they have a specific hobby they tend to offered pretty much the same kind of card year after year. I'm quite lucky as my dad loves native American culture and movies. The old one which he grew up with are his favourite at the moment. Plus he loves the action stuff what man doesn't?

Anyway this is my first entry for this month. Almost last minute but like I said at the start had a lot to deal with so I think I can be forgive this once.

Hope you like and thank you for looking.

Big crafty hugs to you all

Priscillas Sun, Moon and Star

Hi Everyone

Well what can I say I just love this image by Priscilla as it really lended itself to making the triple easel card I have been wanting to try.

I kept it simple coloured the images using promarkers and the added drys clear glue and glitter for the sparkle. Framed each image using a spellbinders die that I purchased a couple of weeks ago from Create and craft tv here in England. (I was lucky as these sold out in less than a day.) I then mounted them onto black card that I had measured cut and scored to form a triple easel card.

This card has also been entered into the world of crafters 1st Birthday/Anniversary challenge. Thought I would kill 2 birds with one stone as the saying goes.

I don't think this image needs much as the simpleness of it kept it elegant and not in your face.

Thanks for looking and come back soon.

CDAC - Digital Drawing Contest - spring theme Design 3

HI Everyone

Here is the digital stamp my youngest decided I should enter into the challenge. Not strictly spring but hey I can eat cupcake any time of the year I don't know about you!

In the words of Homer Simpson "MMMMmmmmmmm Cupakes! ARGGGGggg." LOL. As long as I have chocolate cake I am happy. If fact my daughters for the last couple of years have baked me a chocolate cake for easter instead of giving me an egg, much better.

Anyway hope you like the image and thank you for visiting.

CDAC - Digital Drawing Contest - spring theme Design 2

Hi Everyone

This is design number 2 for the CDAC drawing challenge. I have called it egg hunt as the eggs are hidden in the long grass waiting to be found by the little ones.

I have had some real fun drawing these images over the last couple of days. Even though I have tons already created and stored away on my computer I just couldn't resist drawing more.

I hope that you like my little Easter image and thank you so much for dropping by.

Big hugs to all and happy crafting

I've been Spotlighted

Hi Everyone

wow I awoke this morning to a lovely surprise, Priscilla from CDAC (Crafters Digital Art Center) has spotlighted one of my cards that I created for the colour challenge over there.I feel really really honoured about this. It has really put a smile on my face.

This was a card I wanted to have a play with. In England we don't usually send cards for Halloween not yet anyway, but I loved the image so much I just had to have a play. Plus the little witch isn't a nasty one so no spiders or bugs for her I just couldn't do it. I did have some bat rings that came in a bag full of goodies from the pound shop. I decided to use those.

The card itself is just a simple easel card in the shape of an unside down triangle and matted and layered using some free backing paper that I got from a magazine ages ago. (I am on a drive to use up some of the freebies before I buy anything else and see what I can make with them.)
The rings from the goddie bags I had to chop of the ring part and add it to some acetate so they looked like they were just flying next to the card and not attached to it. Added glitter around the moon and around the matt of the image which I cut out using my nesties. Then really just had fun putting it all together and hoping that it all worked out.

Thankfully it did work out now have have this wonderful honour and a great start to a day I thought was going to be stressing. Now not letting anything get to me nope smile on my face now no matter what the day tries to throw at me.

CDAC Vintage writing

Wow what can I say I won a challenge with this card over at the CDAC. Never won anything like that before.

The challenge was for the other theme entry we had to create a card with vintage and writing as it's base to start from, also using the free image supplied for the challenge. I couldn't find the right backing paper so I created it using some images I had. I also wanted to give a feeling that the letters were one of the most important treasures that this person owned. They were more valuable than money. This person had the first letter that their grandchild had wrote them hence the yellowing of the papers. I also wanted to depict the ancient art of writing to loved ones and this was why I placed on the card a quill and ink well. The quill was an old lace trimming from a blouse that I had stashed in my wardrobe. No idea where it came from as the blouse/shirt certainly isn't my style. I think I remember wearing it once? for what no idea but you know us crafters never throw anything away and I am so glad I didn't as it worked perfectly.

I even added an old Brittania 1 pence coin. I think the date on it was 1936 and I also added an old treasure box key for good measure.

I wasn't sure that the card would work out at first but the more I got into it the better I liked it. I am so pleased that others liked it also as that is why we create our works to help brighten other peoples days. I hope that you like what you see and why not go over to the CDAC and join in the fun.
